About Us
Teluisi Silver Fae Vautour-Wilmot, Director of Pressure For Change – Shelf Stable Foods Inc. Ni'n tleyawi Listuguj Mi'gmaq First Nation.
Founded in Punamu'kwati'jk, Sipekne'kati'k (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) and Pressure For Change – Shelf Stable Foods Inc. is an Indigenous-owned, living-wage-modeled food manufacturing business dedicated to creating shelf-stable foods that provide long-term access to locally made, nutritious products.
We sell our products in person at markets and offer a smaller variety online as we work toward full Nova Scotia–wide licensing. Our goal is to expand to serve all 13 First Nations in Mi’kma’ki, ensuring consistent access to shelf-stable foods made right here in Punamu'kwati'jk.
Our mission is grounded in a simple truth: minimum wage should be a living wage, and food security is a human right. We believe that true reconciliation includes economic empowerment, fair compensation, and access to nutritious, culturally grounded foods within Indigenous and rural communities.
We proudly operate on a living-wage model, ensuring everyone involved in our business — from production to delivery — earns a fair, sustainable income. This model supports both our team and the broader community by setting a standard for what ethical food manufacturing can look like in Nova Scotia.
As we grow across Provinces, we aim to serve all of Mi’gma’gi–Mi’kma’ki, increasing community-based sales and reinvesting through donations of food to Indigenous households.
